WHY CONNECT YOUR MAILBOX?

Rather than using a dedicated address, you link the email inbox you already use. The AI reads incoming messages there and replies from your own address, transparently for your correspondents.

YOUR ADDRESS AND THE MAILBOX PASSWORD

Open the Settings window, 'Email assistant' tab. Enter your address and your mailbox password, then 'Connect'.

We look up your address's servers, then actually sign in before saving anything. At OVH, a mailbox can live on several servers: we try them one by one and keep the one that accepts it.

At OVH (MX Plan, Zimbra, Email Pro, Exchange), it is the password of the address, as OVH's documentation asks. At Gmail, it is an app password (see below).

Your credentials are encrypted and never stored in plain text. Connections to your servers are encrypted, and their certificate is verified.

IF WE CAN'T FIND YOUR SERVERS

Open 'Advanced settings' and enter the incoming server: one field is often enough, we also try it for sending.

At OVH, its name is in your customer area, 'General information' tab, 'Connection' section (for example pro2.mail.ovh.net). Ports: 993 for incoming, 587 or 465 for outgoing.

ONE-CLICK CONNECTION (GOOGLE / MICROSOFT)

When the 'Sign in with Google' or 'Sign in with Microsoft' buttons are offered, it is the simplest route: you sign in at your provider, you grant access, and the mailbox is linked. We never see your password.

Microsoft 365, Outlook.com and Hotmail no longer accept a password for third-party apps: for them, only this connection works.

STEPS FOR GMAIL

Gmail requires an 'app password', which needs two-step verification enabled on your Google account:

• Enable two-step verification on your Google account (Google Account > Security).
• Go to myaccount.google.com/apppasswords.
• Create an app password (name it '{{BRAND_WORDMARK}}') and copy the code displayed.
• In {{BRAND_PRODUCT_NAME}}, Settings window, 'Email assistant' tab, paste this code as the password, then 'Connect'.
